When An Interior Designer Visits Hunar Haat, It is about Haat So Full of Hunar

To be an artist is to believe in Possibilities. And this place was nothing less than the ocean of opportunities for every artist here.

I was, at Hunar Haat, a platform organized to bring to you the artisans and craftsmen from small villages and not so known places from around the country right away in your comfort zone.

More than anything else this was a treat for everyone who loves to explore various materials of design.

So many elements were distributed in different sections of Haat, from woodwork to handcraft, from intricate marble cutting to handmade feather art, the variety was astounding.

So many artisans from various parts of the country, all on one platform was Interesting and Inspiring.

A Lot to Explore and a Lot to Learn.

This exhibition is organized annually in various parts of the country at various times of the year to promote artists from different industries and places in India.

Art forms like feather painting, Patachitra Paintings, hand made murals are some of the various sustainable products I came across in this Haat.

To summarize it well, it was a wonderful opportunity for skilled workmanship which otherwise fail to get exposure and opportunities to showcase their skills.

The best outcome of this effort is when you see artisans and craftsmen getting exposure of the real market and coming in direct contact with real buyers, traders and end users who are genuinely interested in their products.

This definitely means more sales, more scope of work, and more margins for our artists.

Various materials showcased in Haat

Carpet manufacturers from Bhadoi, Metal Art from Aligarh, Palm leaf engraving from Odisha, Marble art from Agra, the exhibition had it all.

Evergreen concept of so many skilled individuals coming together, this Hunar Haat is definitely worth a visit.

While at Haat, I also learned that the same kind of exhibition was going on in three different cities simultaneously, which means more artisans and more opportunities.

Being a designer, it was so inspiring to see so many artists from various industries but I was genuinely partial as my focus was more on the items that will help you improve upon your spaces.

Do watch the video to get a full glimpse of Hunar Haat and meet various artists here.
